Songzap at NAMM
Earlier this year, Songzap became a finalist at the 40th NAMM TEC Awards – in the Audio Apps & Hardware/Peripherals for Smartphones and Tablets category – up against industry giants such as Avid/Sibelius, Roland, Yamaha, and Steinberg/Cubase.
We had the pleasure of being interviewed at the Anaheim Convention Centre by Emmy award-winning journalist, AI evangelist and tech storyteller Lindsey Mastis, who’s been asking the question: Is AI Ruining Music?
Of course, we believe that AI can be used for good, as a supportive tool that enhances human creativity rather than replaces it. Songzap deploys artificial intelligence in the Beat, Bass and Pad session players that listen to your performances to generate virtual session buddies; and also in the brand new Headphone-Free Recording technology that allows you to record multitrack audio, without any bleed from your iPhone/iPad speaker.
Watch Lindsey’s epic documentary below on AI in music, as she asks musicians, companies and creators at NAMM ’25 the tough questions.

Is AI Ruining Music?
Lindsey Mastis went to the largest music convention in the United States, NAMM, to find out. What she discovered is far more complicated than expected. Artificial intelligence is reshaping the music industry, from session players and songwriters to legendary artists like Rosanne Cash and Jackson Browne. At NAMM 2025, Lindsey asked musicians, companies, and creators the tough questions:
Will AI replace human creativity? How are musicians already using AI in their work? What protections do artists need as AI tools expand?
Along the way, Lindsey uncovers surprising stories of resistance, innovation, and experimentation that reveal the real debate about AI and music. Catch our Songzap interview at 3:04.
