Songzap’s Home Screen Features

If you’ve already caught the Getting Started blog posts / videos familiarising you with Songzap’s TRACK, GROOVE, ARRANGE and MIX functions, you may be wondering what the rest of the Home Screen buttons do. Here’s a quick run-through of the remainder controls, so that you’re totally ready to navigate Songzap if you’re just starting out:

App Info Menu

Tap on the App Info button to open a menu of Tutorials, User Guide support and additional Links. You will also find an App Settings button at the top left, which opens a pane allowing you to enable or disable an interface input or a headphone mic for recording, as well as bluetooth audio for playback.

Create New Song

The New Song button opens a pane letting you name and create your song, choose from a number of Arrangement Templates (Basic, Verse-Chorus and Detailed), and select whether you want to include a count-in in your arrangement or have a drum beat enabled by default. Here, you can also determine the tempo of the song to be created.

Open Song Library

The Song Library contains all of your songs, which you can sort by date or alphabetically. Tapping on the ‘folder’ icon to the right of each song opens the Manage Song pane, where you can Permanently Delete or Duplicate a song. At the top left of the Song Library, you’ll find the Cloud Storage Settings button [only available in Songzap Premium], opening a pane where you can Enable Cloud Backup storage and automatically Sync songs between your devices.

Open Profile Page

Tap the Profile button to enter/access your Username, Email and Account Type details, and provide additional profile information (such as location, instruments played, preferred genres and access to Songzap newsletters and offers). Here, you can also turn Education Mode on or off, sign out and manage your subscription.

Edit Song (Name, Lyrics, Notes, Duplicate, Delete)

The Edit Song button opens the Song Info menu, with access to the Lyrics, Notes and Settings (tempo, time signature, drum kit used and created/modified dates). You can rename, delete and duplicate your song all from this page.

Play Song

It’s handy to be able to play/preview your song before you dig deep into the TRACK, GROOVE, ARRANGE or MIX pages, so you’ll find the self-explanatory Play button to the right of the song name providing easy navigation.

EXPORT

Tap on the EXPORT button to access the Export page, with options to Share your song as an .m4a file (ideal for online sharing) or Archive all of its assets in full resolution (Songzap Premium feature ideal for transferring to DAWs, as it includes uncompressed loop, track and mix files, as well as MIDI generated out of the AI session players and arrangement markers). In Songzap Premium, three buttons at the top-right of the Export page allow you to Export Loop Audio Files (a zip of the raw loop recordings), Export MIDI (Beat, Bass and Pad pattern data, as well as Song Tempo and Arrangement Markers) and Export Lyrics (Arrangement and Notes, too) as a text/PDF file [this last option also available with the free version of Songzap].

EDU MODE

Finally, tap on the ‘page-flip’ EDU button at the bottom-left of the Home Screen to open up the Songzap Education page, with access to the Getting Started tutorials and the option to turn the Songzap Assistant on or off.
